Tagged

I was tagged a long time ago by Kathyat kathyskreations and also by Rebecca Grohall at Bella Carta~Beautiful paper to tell 7 unknown things about myself. This is hard as I am very open with everyone and I think people know everything about me, but I will try.
1. I lived for 49 years of my life no further than 25 miles from where I was born. At age 49, my husband and I moved to North Carolina and I had a very difficult time adjusting to having no family nearby and not knowing the area. I was frightened to leave the house for fear I would get lost and never find my way back to my house. But, now after 10 years of living here, I love it and can't imagine moving back to PA.

2. I am a hoarder. You would never believe how many supplies for all my crafts I have in this house. I learned to weave baskets, so have reed stacked up in our garage. Then I learned to scrapbook and now I have all sorts of scrapbook supplies--paper, stickers, albums, pages, etc. all stored. Now I have the stamping bug, and not just Stampin' Up. I have all of it. I have all the ink pads, all the watercolor wonder crayons, all the markers, paper galore. I can't seem to control myself!!

3. I am the same way over food. I hoard it. I have all my closets filled with food and my freezer is jammed full. I wonder what kind of psychological problem I have.

4. And on top of all that, I have a weight problem. I seem to hoard calories!!! Doesn't matter how much I eat or don't eat, the wt. comes on.

5. I love doggies. I have a westie who is 13 and a little shih-poo who is going to be 2. Abby and Gracie. I love them and I talked my husband into a camper so that we could travel without putting them in a kennel.

6. I am an RN, but never got my NC license, so am a stay at home stamper. I will keep my PA license in case.

7. I get more joy out of sending out Wish RAK's than the actual use of the
stamps for cards. Some of my stamp sets have never seen ink except for sending out Wishes. I love it!!! If any of you have not heard of Splitcoast Wish RAK, hurry right over there and join!!!

Ok, there you have it. I am not going to tag anyone because I am probably the last to get tagged as hardly anyone reads my blog except Kathy!! Thanks for checking in.

Wow, what a day!!!

I got this great Gina K lighthouse stamp and sentiment from http://www.stampingfreak.com/ and couldn't wait to use it. I love how this card turned out. I may use it to send to my mother. She would really appreciate it. This card was a challenge as it used paper tearing, embossing, masking, watercoloring, as well as sponging. It was a good challenge for me.
This card uses the stamp set that is retired called "Art of Life" and I just love it. Kathy loaned it to me. I stamped versamark leaves on the pink cardstock and then used the cracked glass technique on the floral image. The saying says "To affect the quality of the day, that is the highest of arts.Henry David Thoreau." I love that sentiment and it will go to someone special.

I received this card from a very special Wish RAK'er. She stamped me a bunch of Summer By the Sea images and sent along this card with it that she did the cracked glass technique. Her name is Rhonda Maynard (SCS name manyblessings) and she is the most generous person. She sent me an envelope full of images. I got Summer by the Sea, Vases in Vogue, the Memory Box penguins,Stampendous monkeys, Edgy Eloquence, and Best of Cluck, as well the Stampendous Tier of Treats. A few weeks ago, Rhonda sent me some Amuse imges and Seaside sketches and to my astonishment and gratitude a real stamp out of the Seaside Sketches set. I used that stamp on the card I made below. I think I may use it for my daughter's birthday. If you are reading this Rhonda, thank you from the bottom of my heart for all you did. I appreciate it so very much.

There is a Pay it Forward thread in Splitcoast and I took part in it. This is what I received from Sara Paschal. She made me the most beautiful magnet from the recollections paper in SU. It has the cutest little note pad and pencil that has been altered with that paper. Also, the sentiment is precious "Today all the flowers are blooming just for you!" Isn't that the greatest? Then she didn't stop there, she enclosed the prettiest card front. I think the heart is made with Stamps by Judith (I love those stamps). Sara's SCS name is Justtieszen. Isn't that cute? She is most talented and I would love to know how she made this magnet. Thank you so much Sara if you are reading this. I feel truely special.

I am in the Bloggers RAK and I received this adorable card from Molly Ritterbeck (MollyDR). I can see why folks like receiving cards as they really do make you feel special that someone took the time to make a card for you and send it. Thank you so much Molly. This set is so cute and I love the way you used the ribbon and mounted the cupcake top on dimensionals. Your paper piecing is impecable. I really appreciate being RAK'd.

And last but not least, these cards. Kathy came over today and I helped her finish up a swap she is in. She needed 15 cards. I have never done one of them before so it was lots of fun working with her. I made the leftovers into these cards. I needed several cards this month for various folks and these will work. I just love that lighthouse stamp and the lady from the
Seaside Sketches that Rhonda sent me really make these cards. I think they will be appreciated.
Wow, what a long post! It will amaze me if you have read thru til the end and if you have, please leave me a comment. I love to read them. Thanks so much for checking in on me today.
